Maryam has been a devoted Yoga practitioner since 2009. Her formal training has been in the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa Krama systems (a very traditional system shared by Srivatsa Ramaswami, a 30+ year disciple of Sri Krishnamacharya). Through these studies and her personal practice, Maryam’s teaching style has developed into a gentle vinyasa flow, focusing on gentle opening and deep alignment that aims to restore the body to its natural state – open, present and free.
Maryam has a natural flair for teaching, and is skilled at giving individual attention, clear instruction and sharing her enthusiasm and passion for all facets of yoga. She believes that the yoga system has something to offer everyone, be it a practical improvement of posture and body awareness, development of strength and discipline, or perhaps a sense of stillness and well-being. She looks forward to sharing her transformative practice with you.
